August 16, 2007: I recently learned that "Adobe plans to discontinue development of Authorware". I had mixed feelings about the news as I started my career working with Authorware and liked it very much, but since then transitioned into ToolBook. In any case life moves on and developers using Authorware should take a look at ToolBook 9 as an alternative. Its fast, efficient and supports deployment to CD-rom and HTML from the same file - and it has support for authoring as well as deployment on Windows Vista. Given my background with both Tools I have added conversion of Authorware Projects to ToolBook to my list of services offered.
